Dolby Atmos Mixing

Friends, family, and colleagues! I am back in the studio at Across The Road where we are well into the world of immersive audio with Dolby Atmos mixing! Over the past 6 months, we have been in the process of adding software and setting up our control room with a 7.1.4 speaker configuration. 7 speakers in surround, 1 sub speaker, and 4 speakers in the ceiling. This has been quite a journey! It reminds me of the early days of 5.1 surround mixing when I remixed a few tracks on Al Green with Oliver Warren and Dennis Cupp in Memphis....only this process is so much more! I will be speaking on a couple of panels at the Cutting Edge Music Conference next week in New Orleans about this and producing/engineering. We will have some interesting projects released in the coming months. So...stay tuned!
