MIXING WITH DOLBY ATMOS
I am back in the studio where I am well into the world of immersive audio with Dolby Atmos mixing! Over the past year, I have been in the process of adding software and speakers in my control room for Dolby Atmos. This has been quite a journey! My first releases have included Al Green’s Greatest Hits, Velvet Rays latest single, Andrew Salgado, Sound Doctrine, and Evelyn Rubio. More exciting new releases will soon be on the market. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. (Yes, of course, I still also mix in stereo!) Happy listening, Danny!
Dolby Atmos is a surround sound technology developed by Dolby Laboratories. It expands on existing surround sound systems by adding height channels, allowing sounds to be interpreted as three-dimensional objects.[1] Following the release of Atmos for the cinema market, a variety of consumer technologies have been released under the Atmos brand, using in-ceiling and up-firing speakers.
Engineering/MIXING
I’ve worked recording and mixing projects in Memphis, L.A., New York, New Orleans, Minneapolis, Muscle Shoals and Houston (to name a few). Now with current technology, I am able to mix most everything in the comfort of my home mixing room. No planes, no hotels, no travel days!
I also mix Front Of House for the Jazz Stage at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival (ok, hotel and planes are involved), and have mixed the concert audio for the TV department at the Houston Rodeo. In the past I have mixed audio for WKNO (PBS Memphis) and concert music mix for WHBQ’s “Good Morning Memphis” live from Handy Park (FOX TV).
My recordings have not only charted in the US (national, Billboard, regional, Spotify, YouTube, etc.), but also internationally including Australia, UK, Germany, Canada, France, Italy and Holland. Genres include Blues, R&B, Pop, Jazz, Rock, Americana, Country, Gospel/Christian.
Just send contiguous/consolidated wav files (ProTools, Cubase, Nuendo, Logic Pro, Studio One, etc) for stereo, 5.1 surround or Dolby Atmos mixes for videos, streaming, downloading, cds, and/or vinyl. Questions? Email or text or call. Let’s talk!
*****CONGRATULATIONS to CLAY MELTON!! His single, “Back to Blue”, (I produced and mixed) recently went to #1 in Roots Music Reports Blues/Rock charts worldwide! *****
