MIXING CLAY MELTON and “GEAR”
Just finished Producing and Mixing 3 songs on Clay Melton ‘s new 5 song EP titled “Back To Blue” at Dave Ehninger’s Across The Road LLC studio in Katy, Tx. The video for the song “Back To Blue” will be released June 25 and the single released to radio. I am occasionally asked about the equipment I use…… so this is what I am currently using. I record to CUBASE 11 PRO (PC) using an Antelope Goliath for converters. Sometimes I will use my UA Apollo Twin, but mostly Goliath. Goliath and Cubase both have great plugins. I also have, and use quite regularly, a ton of plugins from Universal Audio, Waves, Soundtoys, Steven Slate, Eventide, iZotope and probably some others that escape me at the moment. Hardware includes Rupert Neve Designs Portico II Master Buss Processor and the RND 5057 Orbit Summing Amp. [To say that I love my Rupert Neve Designs equipment would be a huge understatement!! My gratitude to Tristan Rhodes, Jonathan Pines and all of the great people at RND and, of course, Rupert himself (RIP), for being so helpful, and for developing this great gear that makes my job so much fun!] I should also mention my thanks to Patrick Dennis at Sweetwater!
